SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS/CANDLE CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Before Lighting: Trim wick to 1/4" before lighting. Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning or flaring.
- Placement Of Candle: Place candle on flat, heat-resistant surface at a safe distance from combustible materials such as curtains. Avoid burning candles in drafts.
- No Debris In Candle: Keep wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches, and any other type of debris at all times.
- Avoiding Drafts: Avoid drafts, vents, or air currents. This will help prevent rapid or uneven burning and sooting.
- While Burning: Never touch or move lighted candle. Let candle completely cool down before moving or relighting it. Never move candle when wax is liquefied.
- Never Leave A Burning Candle Unattended: Extinguish flame before leaving the room.
- Flame Too High: Extinguish candle if the flame becomes to high or flickers repeatedly. Let the candle cool down, trim the wick, and check for unwanted drafts before relighting.
- Removing Carbon Ball: If black deposits build up and form a carbon ball on the wick, extinguish the flame, then trim wick for a clean and even burning.
- When Extinguishing: Use a snuffer to extinguish the flames on candle. This helps prevent the wick from drifting off center. Its also the safest way to prevent hot wax from splattering.
- Never Use Water To Extinguish A Candle: Water can cause the hot wax to splatter and might break the glass container.
- Make Sure The Candle Is Completely Out: Make sure the wick ember is no longer glowing before leaving the room.
- Children And Pets: Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. If you suspect a child has eaten a candle, call your Poison Control Center immediately!
- Centering Wicks: Always keep wicks centered when relighting the candle.
